This is a strange story. The person that crashed called 911 at 8:30 PM - a time of day when there are no thermals to ride and the winds were very light. Then it took 12 hours for search and rescue to locate the crash victim who had died by that time. Granted it was dark and the terrain is moderately difficult but it is open terrain and Green Mountain isn't that big.
