The most interesting news is the opinion that the mountain pine beetle epidemic of the past 20 years has run its course and now only affects 5,000 acres. Spruce budworm, spruce beetle and Douglas fir tussock moth infestations have expanded by as much as 50% in 2015 affecting over 700,000 acres combined.
