5 or 6 times each year in Colorado, there is a report of a bear opening a car door, getting in, somehow closing the door after getting in, unable to open the door from the inside, panics and destroys the interior of the car trying to get out. In a few cases, the bears inadvertently shift the car into neutral and glide down the hill. The easiest way to avoid this happening is to lock your car. If you insist on leaving food in the car, especially sweets like donuts, cakes, cookies, pies - bears may attempt to, and are capable of ripping the doors or trunks off.
